A great day for a March hike. Headed east on Yellow from the Red Circle. The west-facing inclines were bare - no snow, just leaves, like hiking in autumn, but the east-facing downhills were still covered in a granular mush. Some of the descents became part hiking, part running and part skiing. It took an hour to go out to Chestnut and return to Hezekiah's Nob via the White trail. After a couple of photos, Sadie and I began a fairly rapid descent, again somewhat aided by the snow forcing a mad run/slip/ski controlled tumble. We arrived at the Red Square trailhead in 20 minutes. Back at home the round trip was an hour and a half.
